Technology

The Physics of Magnetic Levitation

Earnshaw's Theorem proves static magnetic fields alone cannot achieve stable levitation. Gleagle solves this with active electromagnetic feedback — Hall-effect sensor arrays sample position thousands of times per second, a microprocessor computes corrections, and coil currents adjust in microseconds. Standard 0–2000g, up to 15kg custom.

Comparison

Push-Up vs Pull-Down Architecture

Gravity-Counter Lift

Push-Up Architecture

Repulsion-based. Magnetic source below. Compact footprint, simple installation — ideal for lightweight customization and DIY development.

  • Permanent magnet repulsion + electromagnetic lateral correction
  • 0–3000g across 5 PU-series models
  • PLL 4-channel closed-loop Hall sensor feedback
  • No top structure — unobstructed overhead view
  • Ultra-wide load compatibility — PU3000G handles 0–3000g with auto-tuning
  • Best for: retail displays, exhibitions, consumer electronics

Tension-Balanced Lift

Pull-Down Architecture

Attraction-based. Magnetic source above. Narrow factory-preset load range — calibrated to +/-10% of target weight (e.g. 500g with 450–550g).

  • Electromagnetic attraction + permanent magnet bias
  • 0–1500g standard, up to 15kg custom heavy-duty
  • Single Hall sensor + microprocessor current modulation
  • Pendulum physics handles tilt — simpler control for heavier loads
  • Best for: large, heavy, or irregular objects

Technical Notes

Measurement Conditions: All levitation heights measured under no-load conditions at 25°C, standard atmospheric pressure. Tolerance ±1%.

Load vs. Height: Actual levitation height decreases proportionally as object weight increases. Final height is object-dependent.

Extended Float Mode: Prioritizes maximum height over load capacity. Achievable only when load under 50% of rated maximum.

Environmental Factors: Minor deviations from temperature, pressure, humidity. System maintains stability within standard indoor environments.

Technical Notes

Factory-Preset Calibration: Each top-type system is factory-calibrated to a fixed load and height setpoint based on your object's exact weight and dimensions.

Load Tolerance: Stable levitation within ±20% of preset weight. Lighter objects float higher; heavier objects float lower.

Typical Float Height: 20–30mm under standard calibration. Extended to 35mm+ with upgraded magnet assembly.

Industrial Compliance: Full-load burn-in testing prior to shipment. Calibration parameters documented in factory test report.

FLAGSHIP

PU3000G — 3kg Magnetic Levitation Module

The PU3000G achieves stable 3kg levitation by combining a high-flux permanent magnet repulsion field with our most advanced electromagnetic control system. A ring of neodymium magnets in the base pushes upward against the floating object's internal magnet, generating primary lift force. Four independently-driven electromagnetic coil pairs — arranged symmetrically around the central ring — act as the active correction system: each coil pair is driven by its own phase-locked feedback channel that samples Hall sensor readings at high frequency, comparing real-time position to the equilibrium setpoint and adjusting coil drive current within microseconds.

This 4-channel PLL architecture ensures the floating object stays centered regardless of load distribution asymmetry. The result is a 48mm standard levitation gap — extending to 55mm in Extended Float mode with a proportionally reduced payload — without the thermal buildup common in single-coil designs. Built for sustained, energy-efficient heavy-load operation in industrial displays, luxury retail, and museum installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

MOQ is 1 unit for standard Push-Up series modules (PU300G–PU3000G). For custom Pull-Down configurations, MOQ is 50 units. Evaluation samples for standard models ship within 1 business day.

What is the difference between Push-Up and Pull-Down levitation?

Push-Up (Gravity-Counter Lift) places the electromagnetic base below the object, lifting it upward — no overhead frame needed. Supports 300g–3kg. Pull-Down (Tension-Balanced Lift) mounts the system above and suspends the object below via magnetic force, offering superior pendulum stability for heavy or off-center loads up to 15kg.

Can GLEAGLE customize a levitation module for my product?

Yes. We provide full OEM/ODM customization. Our engineering team calibrates each system based on your object's weight, dimensions, and center of gravity. The process: share product details → solution proposal → prototype → mass production. Custom lead time is 30–45 business days.

What kinds of products can be levitated with Gleagle modules?

Almost anything regular-shaped and non-ferromagnetic within the payload range. Our modules have been used for: sneakers and footwear, champagne and liquor bottles, cosmetics and perfume jars, watches and jewelry boxes, action figures and anime figurines, car models and diecast collectibles, sports balls (soccer, volleyball, baseball, helmets), trophies and medals, candles and aromatherapy diffusers, packaged food and beverage cans, smartphones and tablets, small artworks and sculptures, religious items (crosses, Buddha statues), eternal flowers, and toy wands. The module works best with products that have a balanced center of mass and no iron content.

What are the requirements for the object to be levitated?

Objects should be regular-shaped (roughly symmetrical) for balanced suspension. They must not contain iron or ferromagnetic materials — these interfere with the electromagnetic field. The floating magnet is embedded in a custom carrier or directly attached to the object. Our engineering team determines optimal placement and carrier design for your specific product.

What industries use Gleagle levitation modules?

Retail visual merchandising, trade show and exhibition, footwear and sneaker culture, wine and spirits, cosmetics and beauty, toy and collectible, sports memorabilia, religious and cultural items, promotional products, corporate gifting, museum and gallery displays, and consumer electronics. Any industry where making a product float creates instant attention and premium shelf presence.

What certifications do your levitation modules have?

GLEAGLE is ISO 9001:2015 certified. All modules comply with CE, FCC, and RoHS standards. Each unit undergoes 24-hour full-load burn-in testing before shipment and includes an individual calibration report.

What is the typical lead time?

Standard Push-Up series modules ship within 1 business day. Custom Pull-Down levitation systems require 30–45 business days, including factory calibration and burn-in testing. Evaluation samples ship within 1 business day.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we ship to all major markets including North America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Shipping options include DHL, FedEx, UPS (express: 3–7 days) and sea freight (economy: 25–35 days). All shipments are fully insured and trackable.
